ACUPUNCTURE CAN CORRECT FETAL POSITION AND PREVENT BREECH BIRTHS

Fetal position can be corrected through Acupuncture treatments according to a recent study published in Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy.

Sixty-seven pregnant women with babies in the fetal breech position were randomly assigned to the Acupuncture group or the non-treatment group.

Women treated with Acupuncture were more likely to have the fetus move to the proper position for delivery than women who did not receive any treatment.

The study showed that the fetal position was corrected successfully in 76.4% of women who received Acupuncture whereas women who were not treated only had a 45.4% fetal correction success rate.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective alternative to surgery and reduces the risk of complications resulting from breech births.
